Diamondback was developed by Bailey-Parks in the mid-70's. It is widely used in the grain; sand and gravel; crushed stone; coal; gold, silver, copper, & salt industries, as well as for other various types of applications.
Diamondback is available in a range of 65A to 92A shore durometer and is valuable to the aforementioned applications because of its high resistance to impingement and frictional abrasion. Ease of fabrication and light weight are also beneficial factors.
WHERE TO USE DIAMONDBACK
Grain Industry - Areas of bucket elevator including head sections, distributors, transitions, elbows, spouts and chutes, screw conveyors.
Note - Diamonback is FDA DRYGOOD handling approved.
Mining and related - Spouts and chutes, elbows, bins and hoppers, belt scrapers, noise and vibration dampening, feed boxes, classifier shoes, perforated particle sizing screens, skirt board.
Concrete - Lining of central batch mixers and sand blades.
Foundry Castings - Lining and deburring vibratory tubs, sandblast and shot blast curtains.
Non-Reinforced: No Backing. Most lightweight and flexible.
Cotton Fabric:Lightweight, flexible and excellent for gluing to metal and other substrates.
Expanded Metal:16 gauge. More rigid and flatter when installed. Decreases thermal expansion/contraction. Provides a structurally sound "stopping point" for bolt heads. (4' x 10' standard size)
Slotted Metal:16 gauge metal with wider strands which make it more rigid than expanded metal. (4' x 10' standard size)
Perfoback Metal:16 gauge specialized metal with many small openings that create a perforated effect. Allows the use of self-tapping screws from the back of the sheet. Commonly used as a replacement for solid metal backing. Especially effective with Diamondback Ceramic Chip. (4' x 10' standard size)
High Performance....Low Cost.. Minimum Maintenance
Light weight, corrosion proof spinners offer many advantages over conventional steel spinners.
Made with flexible and tough abrasion resistant urethane, they give long operational life and are not subject to rusting from moisture and salt. Because sand does not freeze to the urethane spinner, spreading effectiveness stays at a high level. Its flexibility helps to avoid costly replacements due to physical and mechanical damage. All of the factors add up to saving money on replacements, maintenance labor and downtime.
Advantages
Non - Corrosive
Lighter Weight
Ease of maintenance
material won't freeze to the spinner
Diamondback urethane Classifier Shoes can help control many of the problems common to bulk aggregate handlers. Designed to fit specific classifier models and sizes, Diamondback offers many advantages over rubber, plastic and NI-hard shoes.
In applications involving extreme cutting abrasion, diamondback is known to outwear even NI-Hard by a margin of 2.5 times to 1. In addition to weighing only 1/7 as much as NI Hard, Diamondback is flexible, eliminating the need for seperate right and left hand shoes.
Bailey-Parks Urethane also offers experience, reliability and proven performance. since 1969, we have supplied industry with quality urethane products, competitively priced and backed byy good old fashioned hard work and service.
You can phone us or fill out a classifier shoes Inquiry form on-line, and we will call you concerning your application.
Advantages
Lieght Weight - Saves money on freight, less strain on motors and bearings, less strain on the installation crew. Long Wearing - Less down time cost saving on labor, frieght and the shoes themselves!
In the early 1980's, Bailey-Parks began experimenting with ceramic chips combined with urethane for use in abrasion applications caused by small, sharp particles or very high volumes of abrasion.
As we realized the potential of this combination we also developed a unique process which allows us to compact our ceramic chips throughout the entire thickness of the sheet. Unlike other ceramic chip sheets on the market, our Diamondback Ceramic Chip sheets on the market, our Diamondback Ceramic Chip sheet maintains its abrasion resistance long after our competitors have lost theirs. Because, after all, when the chips are gone, you no longer have a ceramic chip sheet.
Application:
Grain elevators handling large amounts of soybeans have used Diamondback Ceramic Chip liner and reported wear advantages of as much as 2 to 1 over standard Diamonback Urethane. many other applications have realized compparable results.
The Wedgie Bolt Urethane Fastening System offers the best, longest wearing fastening system available for use with urethane and other synthetic rubber products. The wedgie Bolt is formulated with Bailey-Parks' tough Diamondback urethane, known to outwear even heat treated alloy by a 6:1 margin.
Conventional metal bolts, even when countersunk, offer very little resistance to wear, and no resistance to leakage in applications involving liquid slurry. The wedgie Bolt, in addition to its' superior wearability, has been pressure tested, with water, to 1200 PSI with no leakage. Long wearing Diamondback urethane completely encapsulates steel bolt head, providing a mechanical lock.
*Locking effect means that bolt will not slip against urethane once it has been counter sunk
*Seals against urethane sheet, prohibiting seeping or leaking in wet applications without the use of messy sealants
*Single piece construction eliminates the need for "patching" of hole plugging materials
*When properly installed there is no interruption to flow due to a protruding bolt head
*Reduces likelihood of fungus buildup in hole/bolt crevice
*Designed to allow maximum use and wearability of urethane or other material being fastened
*"One-time" installation item - it should last as long as the sheet itself, reducing need for maintenance inspection
*Available sizes for use with sheet thicknesses 1/4" - 2"
Urethane Plow blades are tough, durable, and long lasting. "Snow Hog" Blades will adapt to standard hardware. Available in any width, length, and hole pattern with or without slots. Special orders welcome.
Recommendations For General use:
*Should be used with shoes or casters
*Not more than two inches of everhang
*Raise casters and back drag the blade approximately fifty yards to reduce start-up chatter if the blade is not beveled
*Plowing speeds in excess of 30 MPH are not advised
